When there is nothing to play for, last games of the season are usually unbearable due to the hype from the playoffs. But there was some interesting things in this game. Gerald Wallace and his creativity impacted the game after shooting an air ball. The confidence may or may not be there but he stole the ball 4 times tonight and recorded several hockey assists. The first half was close for the opening minutes but the starters pushed the lead up to double digits after everyone settled down.
The starters were pulled out the game late in the third quarter. Brook Lopez was the dominant player out of the starters, scoring 20 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams combined for 18 points and 8 assists.
From the late third to the end, the game was sloppy. Both teams finished with 24 turnovers and Andray Blatche turned into a seven foot guard. He did have 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting but finished with a plus/minus stat of negative 16. Kris Humphries played well but Detroit eased their way back into the game slowly. Will Bynum scored 23 points on an efficient 70 % shooting. Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe also had a decent game and they helped the comeback. The deficit was just too big and Mirza Teletovic sealed the deal with a block. The Nets finished their season with 49 wins and they face the Chicago Bulls for the first round of the playoffs.
