Deron Williams and Kyle Korver have been friends for a long time and Williams latest pitch via Instagram has highlighted the obvious. The Nets are looking for another shooter to join Jason Terry and Kyle Korver would be a fantastic move. Last season Korver shot 46% from the field, including three pointers. However, Korver is looking for a big contract contrary to the reports by Marc Stein which knocks the Nets out of contention.
The Nets will most likely offer Korver the mid level exception which is about $3.2 million per year. Other teams are expect to offer more than $10 million over three years so the Nets will have to look at other players.
If you paid attention to the Nets vs Bulls games last season, you would have seen a player name Marco Belinelli who killed the Nets. Whether it was game winners in the regular season or clutch performances in the playoffs, Belinelli proved that he can do more than shoot. Unlike Korver, Belinelli can put the ball on the floor and make other plays besides shooting.
Carlos Delfino is also available but there is a twist since the 2011 second round pick Bojan Bogdanovic is looking to join the Nets this summer. Billy King also stated this to be a goal for Bogdanovic but he will be a 24 year old rookie and may not accept the rookie contract. He currently makes more in Europe.
The Nets have little room for more players and they will be paying a luxury tax of close to $80 million. Since Korver is seeking a bigger contract, Belinelli might be the key added with the fact that he is a better player. Peter Vecsey reported that King will meet up with Korver soon right after signing Andre Blatche.
