Andray Blatche Motivated To Keep Improving

Andray Blatche came in last season as a risk. A player who caused trouble in Washington and needed to get back on track. Luckily for the Nets, he fixed himself up and with Brook Lopez gave the Brooklyn Nets a deadly center rotation. Together, they combined for a solid 29.7 points per game.

Now in his second year with the Nets, Blatche feels as if he still has something to prove.
“I’m comfortable being here in New York and with the organization,” Blatche said after Monday’s practice at the team’s practice facility before Tuesday’s preseason game against his former team. “But other than that the focus is still the same, and the mindset is still the same.
“I’m here to do a job, just the same as last year. I’m here to do a job, and my head is still in the same place. I’m staying humble and continuing to work.”
Many people considered Blatche to hold tons of potential, its just that he could not get his act together.
“I thought Andray Blatche was a player who had the potential to be a rising star in this league when he was in Washington,” Jason Terry said.
Motivated to keep working harder and rebranding his name, Blatche has now been consistently in the weight room. Lopez amongst others are noticing positive results, which will help Blatche become an even bigger force in the paint.
“Absolutely,” Lopez said. “It was great to get to take a look at Andray and see his work ethic and effort in the weight room. That really translates to the court, and it’s shown this past season and in this training camp.”
